Emotional intelligence (otherwise known as emotional quotient or EQ) is the ability to consciously feel our emotions, and have a deep relationship with ourselves and other people. EQ has plenty of privileges in our life, some of the benefits of good management of EQ are the ability of awareness, and a better understanding and control of our emotions, surroundings and manage stress relief.
It’s very different as IQ (Intelligence Quotient) refers to the intellectual ability and It is an inborn ability. EQ refers to the emotional ability, it can be learned and improved overtime.
Is it important because we live surrounded by people, and we should be able to understand our emotions as well as other people's emotions, also helps us to build relationships, reduce stress, and improve job satisfaction.
